Wanted: New energy trading partners

As Canada debates where to focus exports of its burgeoning oil and gas supply, Europe is trying to decide whether it will accept any oil sands crude at all. Maria van der Hoeven, executive director of the Paris-based International Energy Agency, gave a speech in Calgary recently and afterwards sat down with Jameson Berkow, the Financial Post’s western business correspondent, to discuss what it will take to get oil sands crude to Europe and why Canada must look everywhere it can for new energy trading partners.
