Improvement in forecast

Arkansas Drought Resource Center

Since the remnants of Isaac soaked parts of the state, we have been seeing more rainfall and some drought relief in Arkansas.  If you’ve been following the Drought Monitor, you’ve seen how exceptional drought conditions (the most intense) have retreated to a bean-shaped oval in the north central to northwestern part of the state.  NOAA released more good news today.  Although no one is predicting an end to the drought in Arkansas, the U.S. Seasonal Drought Outlook for now through the end of the year is for continuing improvement.  Read more …
